This year, we’re finally getting several Marvel films from Marvel Studios, but the series didn’t start strong with Captain America: Brave New World. We hope the upcoming films will be more convincing, and they have a good chance of being so, as both introduce old and new heroes and teams. The Thunderbolts is coming in May, and Fantastic Four: First Steps will follow in July. The former brings together a lot of familiar faces, since the Avengers are not in focus. However, according to the trailer, don’t be discouraged from the film just because the Avengers’ stars aren’t stepping in to save the world, because notable creators and actors have worked on this one as well. The trailer is very "meta," reminding us that stars from White Nights (Florence Pugh), A Different Man (Sebastian Stan), and You Hurt Me (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) are shaping the characters, and the director (Jake Schreier) and writers (Lee Sung Jin, Joanna Calo) are behind the Emmy-winning series Beef. Even the cinematographer is a renowned artist (Andrew Droz Palermo), who worked on The Green Knight. So, this will be a quality piece, and everyone should check it out! And of course, David Harbour’s Red Guardian will also make a cameo at the end with a big “YEEES!” The Thunderbolts hits theaters on May 1, and the previous poster and trailer have revealed what the star in the title refers to and who the main antagonist will be.
