Long before 21 Jump Street and Now You See Me, Dave Franco was auditioning for Superbad — and apparently had no idea how much even a tiny connection to the film would follow him around.
Appearing on The Tonight Show, Franco looks back at that early audition before turning to his new DreamWorks animated movie Forgotten Island. He admits seeing the finished film actually made him cry, with the story’s themes of friendship, memories and letting go hitting considerably harder than he expected.
Franco voices Raww, a weredog living on the magical island of Nakali, alongside a cast that includes Liza Soberano, H.E.R., Manny Jacinto, Lea Salonga and Dolly de Leon. Forgotten Island opens in theaters September 25.
