Secrets Teaser: A Mother's Dark Past Returns in Netflix Thriller
Netflix's Indonesian thriller Secrets follows a single mother whose attempt to build a better life for her daughter is threatened by the return of a dangerous figure from her past.
Some secrets refuse to stay buried. Netflix has unveiled the official teaser for Secrets, an upcoming Indonesian thriller exploring a mother's desperate attempt to protect the life she has built for herself and her daughter.
The film follows Parni, a single mother determined to leave behind a painful and violent past. Together with her daughter Riska, she hopes to create a more secure future, free from the experiences that once threatened her happiness.
However, her carefully rebuilt world begins to unravel when a figure from her past unexpectedly returns. Old wounds reopen, hidden truths threaten to emerge, and Parni finds herself confronting dangers she believed were finally behind her.
Sha Ine Febriyanti stars as Parni, while Abimana Aryasatya portrays her former partner, whose reappearance threatens everything she has worked to achieve.
Directed and written by Ravi L. Bharwani, known for 27 Steps of May, the film centres on the consequences of past trauma, the difficulty of escaping harmful relationships and the lengths a parent may go to protect their child.
Produced by Wilza Lubis through Buddy Buddy Pictures, Secrets adds another character-driven thriller to Netflix's growing collection of Indonesian productions.
The newly released teaser introduces the film's central mystery while leaving plenty of questions unanswered about Parni's history and the danger surrounding her family.
As the past closes in, the story asks whether starting over is ever truly possible when the truth remains hidden.
Secrets premieres on Netflix on December 3, 2026.
