The One About Matthew Perry: Netflix Shares Emotional Sneak Peek

Matthew Perry's story extends far beyond Chandler Bing, and Netflix's upcoming documentary series The One About Matthew Perry hopes to reveal the man behind one of television's most beloved characters.

A newly released sneak peek arrives ahead of the three-part documentary's premiere, offering audiences another introduction to a deeply personal portrait of the late Friends star.

Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Mary Robertson, the series explores Perry's remarkable Hollywood career, his long struggle with addiction and his determination to help others facing similar challenges.

Among its most significant contributors is Mia Perry Bowick, the actor's younger sister, who shares personal memories of her brother on camera for the first time. Her reflections are accompanied by previously unreleased photographs and videos from the Perry family's private collection.

Longtime friends and collaborators, including Kevin Pollak, Roger Castillo and David Pressman, also contribute their perspectives, recalling Perry's humour, generosity and the difficulties he faced away from the spotlight.

While Perry became internationally famous for portraying Chandler Bing throughout Friends' ten-season run, his later years were increasingly defined by his openness about addiction and his commitment to supporting people in recovery.

The documentary also examines how his personal experiences inspired advocacy efforts that continued beyond his acting career.

Rather than focusing exclusively on his struggles, the series aims to celebrate Perry's humour, relationships and lasting influence on the people who loved him.

The One About Matthew Perry premieres on Netflix on October 27, 2026.
