Bunker Trailer: Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz Face Paranoia

Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz are caught in a dangerous world of wealth, fear and paranoia in the official trailer for Bunker, a psychological thriller from Oscar-winning filmmaker Florian Zeller.

Bardem plays Miguel, a successful London-based architect who receives an extraordinary offer to design a luxurious underground survival bunker for a powerful technology billionaire, portrayed by Paul Dano.

The commission promises financial rewards and professional prestige, but the project soon begins affecting Miguel's personal life. His wife, Sofia (Penélope Cruz), grows increasingly uncomfortable as her husband becomes entangled in a world dominated by extreme wealth, anxiety and the fear of impending catastrophe.

Their 17-year marriage comes under mounting pressure, while the unsettling behaviour of a neighbour, played by Stephen Graham, introduces another source of tension.

The ensemble also includes Patrick Schwarzenegger, adding to an impressive international cast.

Written and directed by Florian Zeller, whose acclaimed drama The Father earned Academy Awards for Anthony Hopkins and Best Adapted Screenplay, Bunker examines the psychological consequences of privilege, insecurity and moral compromise.

The trailer suggests that the seemingly straightforward architectural assignment is merely the beginning of a much more disturbing exploration of relationships and human vulnerability.

Following screenings at the Venice and Toronto international film festivals, the film is preparing for its theatrical release.

Bunker opens in select US cinemas on December 11, 2026, before expanding nationwide on January 15, 2027.
