Variety puts McCarthy through its Know Their Lines? challenge, pulling dialogue from across a career that includes Sookie St. James in Gilmore Girls, Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, Ghostbusters, Mike & Molly and her Oscar-nominated performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The challenge sounds easy until decades of characters, scripts and improvised chaos start blending together.
It’s basically a career retrospective disguised as a memory test — and with McCarthy, even getting an answer wrong is usually funnier than getting it right.
