The Mandalorian: Din Djarin Meets Cobb Vanth in Classic Star Wars Scene

Two gunslingers, one familiar suit of armour and a tense encounter on Tatooine. Star Wars has shared an official clip revisiting the memorable first meeting between Din Djarin and Cobb Vanth in The Mandalorian.

Originally featured in the Season 2 premiere, Chapter 9: The Marshal, the scene sees Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, arriving in the remote settlement of Mos Pelgo while searching for other Mandalorians.

Instead, he encounters Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), the town's charismatic marshal, who happens to be wearing a particularly recognisable set of Mandalorian armour.

The problem? The armour once belonged to legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett, and Din is determined to reclaim it for its rightful people.

Their introduction quickly becomes a classic Western-style standoff, with Vanth refusing to surrender the equipment that has helped him protect his community.

However, their confrontation takes an unexpected turn when the enormous krayt dragon terrorising Mos Pelgo makes its presence known.

Rather than settling their differences through violence, the two men strike a deal: Din will help defeat the creature in exchange for the armour.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the episode remains a standout example of how The Mandalorian blends traditional Star Wars mythology with the atmosphere of a frontier Western.

The newly shared clip revisits the moment that introduced Olyphant's fan-favourite character to live-action Star Wars.

The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+.
