What really happened in the Antwerp diamond heist?
Antwerp’s diamond district sits at the centre of the world’s diamond trade, and the vault under the Diamond Centre was protected by layer after layer of security. Over the weekend of 15 February 2003, a gang of five got inside anyway, broke into the safe deposit boxes and walked out with loose diamonds, gold, silver and jewellery worth more than $100 million.
The man behind the plan, Leonardo Notarbartolo, had rented an office in the building and posed as an Italian gem importer, which gave him a way in.
What makes the documentary different?

Here, for the first time, the Belgian detectives who cracked the case sit alongside the man who planned the robbery, and each gives their own account of that night. Among the investigators on screen are Agim De Bruycker, former commander of the federal police Diamond Squad, and forensic officers Patrick Peys and Peter Kerkhof.
