The Holiday Returns to Cinemas With 20th Anniversary Trailer
Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black return to the big screen as The Holiday celebrates its 20th anniversary with a new trailer and festive theatrical re-release.
One of the most beloved Christmas romantic comedies is returning to the big screen. Sony Pictures has released a new 20th anniversary trailer for The Holiday, celebrating two decades of Nancy Meyers' heartwarming film about love, friendship and unexpected second chances.
Originally released in December 2006, the film stars Cameron Diaz as Amanda Woods, a successful Los Angeles businesswoman, and Kate Winslet as Iris Simpkins, a British journalist living in the picturesque English countryside.
After experiencing romantic disappointments, the two women decide to swap homes for Christmas, hoping that a change of scenery will help them escape their complicated personal lives.
But their spontaneous holiday leads to unexpected connections. Amanda meets Iris' charming brother Graham, played by Jude Law, while Iris develops a friendship with Hollywood screenwriter Arthur, portrayed by Eli Wallach, and finds romance with composer Miles, played by Jack Black.
Written and directed by Nancy Meyers, The Holiday has become a seasonal favourite thanks to its memorable characters, cosy Christmas atmosphere and timeless romantic storytelling.
The new anniversary trailer revisits the film's most recognisable moments, bringing its snowy English cottage, sunny California setting and heartfelt relationships back into focus.
With its original theatrical release earning more than $200 million worldwide, the film has continued finding new audiences through television and streaming.
The Holiday returns to participating US cinemas on December 11, 2026, celebrating 20 years since its original release.
