Behemoth! Trailer: Pedro Pascal Confronts His Past in Tony Gilroy's New Drama

Pedro Pascal is returning to his roots in Behemoth!, an emotionally charged new drama from writer-director Tony Gilroy, the acclaimed filmmaker behind Michael Clayton and creator of Andor.

Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer, offering a closer look at a story about family, artistic identity and the extraordinary power of music.

Pascal stars as Alex Serian, a gifted cellist and former child prodigy who returns to Los Angeles after spending more than two decades travelling and performing. Leaving behind a troubled relationship and his previous life, Alex begins recording film scores while attempting to resolve unfinished family business.

His return brings him face-to-face with complicated relationships, difficult memories and questions about the choices that shaped his career.

The ensemble includes Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Will Arnett, Hank Azaria, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams and Margarita Levieva.

Music plays a central role in the film's storytelling, with original compositions accompanying flashbacks that gradually reveal Alex's past. The soundtrack features contributions from nine prominent film composers, including Michael Giacchino, Alan Silvestri and James Newton Howard.

Following its world premiere at the 2026 New York Film Festival, Behemoth! has attracted attention for its distinctive combination of humour, melancholy and musical storytelling.

Rather than a conventional musician's biopic, Gilroy's film explores the complicated relationship between artistic ambition, family expectations and personal fulfilment.

Behemoth! arrives in US cinemas on December 4, 2026.
