Ben Affleck Revisits Batman, Good Will Hunting and The Town in Variety Interview

Ben Affleck has delivered plenty of memorable movie lines throughout his career, but can he actually remember them? The Oscar-winning actor puts his memory to the test in a new instalment of Variety's Know Their Lines.

The interview challenges Affleck to identify dialogue from some of his most recognisable films, including Good Will Hunting, The Town, Daredevil and his appearances as Batman in the DC Extended Universe.

One particularly entertaining moment involves Bruce Wayne's famous declaration that his superpower is being rich. Although Affleck immediately recognises the character, he struggles to remember exactly which DC film featured the line.

The conversation also explores his experiences working with Zack Snyder on Justice League. Affleck expresses appreciation for Snyder's director's cut and reflects on the creative difficulties surrounding the original production.

Looking back at The Town, Affleck reveals how he developed a memorable scene with Jeremy Renner. He recalls writing additional dialogue shortly before filming and discussing the moment with his co-star, whose suggestions helped shape the finished sequence.

The interview also revisits Good Will Hunting, the acclaimed 1997 drama Affleck co-wrote with longtime friend Matt Damon. Their collaboration remains one of the defining achievements of his early career.

Elsewhere, Affleck reflects on Daredevil, remembering the experience of performing action sequences alongside Jennifer Garner.

Between forgotten dialogue, filmmaking memories and stories about his collaborators, the conversation provides an entertaining retrospective on Affleck's evolution from young actor to acclaimed filmmaker.

Variety's latest Know Their Lines episode offers a nostalgic journey through more than three decades of Ben Affleck's Hollywood career.
